President Goldman Sachs

A special word of thanks to Instapundit for the six (so far!) times he's linked this post from 2008:

Goldman Sachs Loves Obama

That post in 2008 was based on the reporting of Sharyl Attkisson (now of Fast and Furious reporting fame) detailing how Obama was raking in more money from Wall Street, especially Goldman Sachs, than was John McCain. And it was where this logo was birthed:

Goldman Sachs Loves Obama

The point being now -- if Occupy Wall Street was a genuine grassroots movement genuinely outraged by the idea that banksters own the government, then they would be marching on the Obama White House.

  1. Ya gotta admire the blatant hypocrisy... Wall St. contributes more to Dems than to Reps and was heavy for Obama. So when the Dems prospects turn brown and smelly, what do they do? Jump on a bowel movement against Wall St. and try to tie the latter to the Republicans! And the stupidity of these Wall St. bozos... they fund clowns like Chuck "camera kisser" Schumer who is saying NOT A PEEP in their defense while this is going on. You guys gonna keep funding Obama and the Democrats? If so, why don't you all just commit suicide now and save them some time?

  2. Moreover, if they were inspired by the Arab spring as they claim to be, they would be protesting *government,* not private industry. The lies and idiocy are piling up as deep as the trash in Zuccotti Park.

  3. It's all about conjuring up a bogus narrative for the upcoming election.
After all, facing the electorate with today’s economic realities is going to be a losing proposition.
They need to change the channel to win.

  4. The Occupy tools are cut from the same cloth as the Madison, Wisconsin protesters who turned the democratic process into a side show of partisan extremism. This is a run up to the 2012 election, remember Alinsky, keep the base entertained and charged. The occupiers will evolve into street activists and become willing foot shoulders of Obama.
Remember, the democrats think of the 1968 Chicago riots as a victory of activism over the 'status quo'. Obama plans to use this to set a narrative as an underdog.

  5. Ok. Maybe this is something strange in some people's eyes but I see it as an obvious synergism. Wall Street is darn tired of figuring the costs of healthcare in a business balance sheet when really all they want to do is make/sell widgets. They work to get the government to take that over realizing that spreading the cost over the country saves them billions. Next the food stamps so they don't have to pay a living wage.

  6. Give it anouther year, then the rest of us not occupying anything today, will (re)Occupy the Whitehouse.

... and this shows how ignorant you are of the movement. They've made it pretty clear that "Obama may support OWS, but OWS doesn't support Obama." The movement has been actively trying to divorce itself from Demcorats that are attempting to co-opt the movement.

  8. The only "active" "divorcing" of Democrats I'll accept as legitimate is an Occupy event that targets . . . Democrats.

Otherwise they are at best useful idiots.

  9. OWS doesn't want to be affiliated with any political party or group because it believes politics has failed.
